Fire in the bakery

The Great fire of London 1666 started because a little spark jumped out of a fire in the bakery in Thomas Farynor's bakery in Pudding Lane.

The maid

A maid died in the fire because she was too scared to jump. She told us all about it and we asked her lots of questions.

The maid was terrified!

The fire!

We wrote our diaries on 2nd September 1666. This is what happened when we were in the fire!

Welcome to London

What places or landmarks do you recognise on our map of London? Have you been to any of them? Why is there a flame burning on the map? What is it there for?

London visit

We went to London on Monday afternoon and then made models of what we saw when we got back. See if you can recognise Buckingham Palace, the Olympic swimming pool, Big Ben, Traitor's Gate, a boat on the Thames.

London Sights

London is full of famous landmarks! Which ones are your favourites?

Story writers

We have been writing our own stories. Sophie and Erhan thought that it was good because it was fun and Mollie had fun doing her seven pages!
